For as long as I remember, I have been documenting the best Salsa and Latin Jazz Recordings and best hits of the year for many decades without missing a single year. While at Latin Beat Magazine for 21 years, as writers can only submit a Top Ten list at the end of the year, but I was able to include and review the best of the year in my articles.

For the last seven year, I have been writing for Herencia Latina and Latinos Unidos Record Pool On-Line where I have approached the music and its history from various points of views. The following review of 2017 was done in early 2018 but did not make it to print.

The first list were my favorite picks for the best songs in Latin Jazz and Salsa and then the best CD’s I did receive in 2017. Many of these names may not be familiar to you but the songs are great examples of a good thriving Salsa and Latin Jazz scene worldwide. Many of these singles will appear in recordings by the end of 2018. Some songs are carry-overs from 2016 that shined in 2017 and these are all songs I played at my show at Alma Del Barrio (KXLU.com).
